Ms Kadri Maasik is the Executive Director of the government founded Estonian Centre for International Development (ESTDEV). Through partnerships and investments, ESTDEV is managing and implementing Estonia’s development cooperation and humanitarian assistance projects that help reduce poverty, strengthen democratic governance, build sustainable economies, and help people emerge from humanitarian crises and progress beyond assistance. By sharing Estonia’s successful reform experience, ESTDEV works to support partner countries in becoming self-reliant and capable of leading their own development agendas.
Ms Maasik is an accomplished leader and experienced manager. Prior to joining ESTDEV in 1 July 2021, Ms Maasik was appointed as Undersecretary for Administrative Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From 2011 to 2017, Ms Maasik served as Deputy Secretary General for Planning at the Ministry of Education and Research, and, from 2002 to 2011, in different positions in the Ministry of Finance, including Head of State Budget. Ms Maasik has also worked as an expert for OECD in the field of governance and public financial management in the Balkans. As a board member, she has advised several Estonian education technology and innovation companies.
Ms Maasik earned a double Masters Degree in Economics and Public Administration from the TalTech University, Estonia.
