Dr Elif Yıldızel started her professional life as a researcher within the TUBİTAK project, in 1995 and after a year she joined Türkiye Petrolleri, Exploration Group as an exploration geologist. During 1996-2004 she played active role as an exploration project manager. Between 2004-2009 she was responsible from the Iraqi projects of company as exploration and new ventures manager and acquired blocks in the bidding rounds. Within the same period, she was managing an international Joint Venture and she drilled the first well in the region after twenty years of Force Major period. Additionally she was responsible for presenting the Exploration Group activities in Board Meetings. Besides running exploration projects for the company, she was the member of the Education Committee, representing the Exploration Group and prepared the future strategies and qualifications of technical human resources of Exploration Group. In 2009 she joined Çalık Enerji as Exploration and New Ventures Manager, and managed to acquire exploration blocks in Kurdish Regional Government of Iraq and she was assigned in the Management Committee of the licenses representing the company. In addition to acquiring exploration blocks, she successfully find foreign partner to these blocks and made joint venture agreements. All through her career as an exploration and new ventures manager, she had generated and drilled prospects and discovered hydrocarbons plus developed expertise in economic analysis and portfolio management in oil and gas business in upstream She carried negotiations and feasibility studies about blocks located in East Africa, North Africa, Middle East, Turkmenistan and other regions. She is highly experienced in negotiation of contracts and she is an expert of oil and gas of Iraq. She is lecturing the “Economics of Energy Resources” in Middle East Technical University. Also, she is invited to give lectures about energy and oil and gas in ELSA Law School and various platforms. She is asked to give key note speeches in international conferences and also she holds a column with a wide circulation energy gazette and a science column in a monthly magazine. She is Vice President of Association of Geological Researches and is the founder and CEO of an oil and gas consulting company. She was graduated from Middle East Technical University Geological Engineering Department in 1995 and she holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree on carbonates from the same department.
